TooL are coming back again!
This is the follow-up tour to the previous one I posted about

As before, I'll be passing out flyers (see below).

I'm going to two shows:
Boston, MA: Fri, Sept 29
As before, at the Boston show, tickets were available only by auction and had to be purchased in twos. I therefore have an extra ticket: SEC 2, row N, seat 38. Anyone who wants it, PM or email me. It cost $120.

Manchester, NH: Tues, Oct 3
This show probably still has tickets available; no auction needed; they're about $50-60. I do not have a spare ticket for this show, just use the ticketmaster link directly.

Tool fans tend to be rabidly individualist, and Tool's music has a strong anti-authoritarian, pro-Freedom slant.
I created Free Talk Live flyers specifically to pass out at the concert; I have printed up many hundreds of these. I figure mass-blasting FTL will catch the Libertarians in the crowd (and those who do not yet realize they are Libertarians) more effectively than a direct FSP message would. Plus, FTL aims at GenX/GenY, and that is much of Tool's listenership as well.

If you are going to this concert, please contact me ASAP.
Let's get these into as many hands as possible!

Here are the front & back of the flyers. You may need to right-click and "View Image" to get a decent picture.
"The Message" is a reference to Rosetta Stoned from Tool's latest album; the message itself was inspired by this post from Rearden.

These concerts are coming up and I still have the extra ticket for the Sept 29 show...

The Sept 29th show was AWESOME!!
Nobody from NHFree or FSP forums took me up on the ticket offer, so I wound up taking my neighbor's high school-age son, Tristan, with me.
The neighbor (Barry) is libertarian, a big Aaron Russo fan, and was glad to have such a positive influence as myself around his son :)
It was the first concert Tristan had ever been too -- poor kid is spoiled, being in the first 15 rows at a Mega-Concert like that, all future concerts will be a letdown! :D

We listened to FTL on the way to & back from the concert. By the time we got home, Tristan said he wants to enter a pro-freedom animation at the upcoming Concord High folm festival. He's thinking, maybe a quick story depicting how not wearing your seat belt in 49 out of 50 states, leads ultimately to the "authorities" killing you for your own protection. Oh yeah!!!
Hopefully I'll get him posting here one of these days. Young people like Tyler Stearns and Tristan give me such pride and hope for the future of our spiritual home state. OK, I am choking up now...

Anyway, we passed about about a hundred flyers. I definitely need more help at tonight's concert!!!

Fluff and Stuff

Great update.  You are doing wonderful things.  Yes, lots of the young people in NH are pro-freedom or open to pro-freedom ideas.  I thing though, he could get into the very front of a stage (even main stage) at Warped Tour by pushing his way to the front and getting infront of the stage 30 min early :)  You could even take him to the New England area Warped Tour next year (and hand out FTL flyers) so that all of his best concerts are with you!

Report:
I passed out about 400 of these at the concert.
People in Manchester were MUCH more inclined to actually take and look at the flyers compared to the previous 2 times I flyered these in Boston. People were also markedly more polite -- several people told me, "thanks!"
Also, I generally politely ask people not to litter (I hate seeing fyers I've handed out on the sidewalk!) ... in Boston, people jeered me for that; in Manchester, people said "of course!"

A few people suspiciously asked if the flyers were about god. They were clearly relieved when I said, "no... this is a TooL concert, man!"

Also a few people caught sight of me a while after they'd had the flyer, qand told me things like, "they agree 100%"
One guy almost apologized for still living in Mass, he heard there was some kind of libertarian movement in New Hampshire, and maybe he'll move up here when he finishes High School :)

And get this... I saved one last flyer to bring into the concert; I don't know why I did. I just had a funny feeling I should.
So, waiting for the concert to start, I have a little "music enhancement" (*cough*)
The guy next to me, college-age, lip pierced, brightens up: "dude! I brought bud but no papers... let me put a bud in your bowl and let's share!"
So, we struck up a conversation. This fellow, it turns out:
a) lives in Keene
b) is studying broadcast media in college
c) has a passionate dream to be involved in radio... will be happy to clean toilets if that's what it takes
So, of course, HE is the guy I was holding that last flyer for.

Ian, you probably have not only some new listeners, but a huge new fan somewhere in Keene :)

Wow, did you get any more info on the radio guy?

Nope. It's up to him. He has the FTL URL, and I was as emphatic as possible that he needs to listen to the show and visit the BBS. I didn't get his name. For all I know, he's one of the guys you evicted  :icon_pirat:

LoL.  For the record I did not evict anyone.  I simply asked them to leave at the end of the lease.   ;)

That reminds me... when we eventually run into each other, I should give you a copy of the lease we have our tenants sign. It covers us 8 ways from Sunday, and does a chapter-and-verse of the relevant RSA's in case the renter wants to look 'em up ;)

Dan

I'm heading to my first Tool concert tonight.  The images or whatever posted above aren't there anymore.

Should I wear that yellow FTL or the blue Ron Paul shirt?
