Fantasy or Reality?

I had a most incredible dream, a multi-layered, emerging from one fantasy, about the time of feeling let down, to reveal the next layer reality to be as wonderful if somewhat less perfect.

It seems to be a metaphor for what the folks I know in the underground have accomplished... not as tidy and perfect as we might dream about, but maybe even more beautiful because, warts and all, real.

Some of the people and their influence and meaning to me... the pioneers, the folks that change the world around them.

Russell, for going to the airport etc. etc. etc...
Kat, for tirelessly keeping this forum going (even when we have been a real pain in the ass), always supportive and tolerant of me
Lauren, for showing me what courage looks like
Mike Fisher, for his personal sacrifice and for complementing my work
Dave, for showing me the respectful dissidence
Jim, for being the great guy he is and becoming one of William's best friends
Lloyd, for his wisdom, wit, toy making and support
PatK, for make me crack-up and his NY way of putting people into their place
Dreepa, for sending me William's picture from the Concord Monitor's front page and his optimism
Sandy, for her humorous and touching writings
Toby, for being a great native doer
Brenna, for her enthusiasm and kind words
Ian, for his drive, dedication and radio signal
Julia, for her personal sacrifice and courage
Sean and the rest of the Free Minds crew, for running the pirate TV
Jen, for her determination on the anti-Real-ID effort
Joel, for his proving to me that all politicians aren't false
Denis, for his optimism and drive
Varrin, for being a tolerant, and decent man
Ratty Dog, for being a breath of fresh air
Hollywood, for being a good guy to have around (come back)
Menno, for eating poison ivy sandwiches  :o

And all the rest of the folks bold enough, crazy enough, and just plain determined enough to uproot their lives and make a go of it in the Shire.  8)

Yeah I second all that.

Its like having friends you feel you have known all your life
even though you haven't.

I miss the shire, I was coming up today to look at the
Grafton " compound" but here I am still at work.

Well thats about as much nice stuff as I can stomach.
Hope to see ya all soon.

Nothing wrong with being nice. Especially in this part of the world where it seems so uncommon. :)

The nice way to say it is flinty  ;D

Tom Sawyer

Oh yeah Beavis and the cool Porc 411 system... I knew there would be people and things I would leave out.

Don't forget Roger and his video camera!

Dang, I wish I had *your* dream.   :P I had a dream last night too, but it was weird beyond description.  Something about two different races or species of human who exist unbeknownst to most people, and a female from one had to mate with a male from another to deliver a new leader of both... it was quite complicated and creepy.

Anyway, thanks for thinking of me.  :)

Wow, there's some sort of meaning there... political, sociological...

My dream was very vivid and left quite an impression on me... I which I could remember more of it, it would make a really great screenplay.

Russell Kanning

they are not all flinty
and they are not at all like Newyorkers ;)

Wow. Thank you for this very moving post.

Being mentioned anywhere near these great people is an honor.

I'll be back home to stay, someday. :)

That's probably a sign that you've been reading too much Heinlein. ;)
